Last October, Matt Burgess and his brother Nick decided to open V Or V, a vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Kelham Island, Sheffield. The premises they chose had four walls, a roof and not much else.There was no hot water, no heating – so they got in touch with 1st Call Gas due to our commercial services experience and expertise. We installed a brand new heating system and condensing boiler to help get the place up and running. This involved our gas engineers working around other tradesmen while the building was being renovated, ready for when the restaurant opened just before Christmas. V Or V stands for ‘vegan or vegetarian’. Matt (a vegetarian) and Nick (a vegan) have established a meat-free eaterie that caters for a niche market. Their most popular dish is a vegetarian breakfast.
Says Matt: “The 1st Call Gas team was great. Our heating is energy efficient, and has made the restaurant wonderfully cosy. I won’t hesitate to recommend them.”
